Collaborative Momentum Consultants have noted 10 traits as contributed to “Courageous Leadership”. Merriam-Webster defines each trait as follows:

  • Risk-taking – the act or fact of doing something that involves danger or risk in order to achieve a goal.
  • Connectivity – the quality, state, or capability of being connective or connected.
  • Communication – a process by which information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols, signs, or behavior or personal rapport.
  • Empowerment – the act or action of empowering someone or something or the granting of the power, right, or authority to perform various acts or duties or the state of being empowered to do something or the power, right, or authority to do something.
  • Decisiveness – having the power or quality of deciding.
  • Honesty – adherence to the facts, sincerity or fairness and straightforwardness of conduct.
  • Trustworthiness – worthy of confidence, dependable.
  • Self-Awareness – an awareness of one’s own personality or individuality.
  • Resilience – the capability of a strained body to recover its size and shape after deformation caused especially by compressive stress or an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.
  • Persistence – the action or fact of persisting or the quality or state of being persistent (persist – to go on resolutely or stubbornly in spite of opposition, importunity, or warning).
